Stars Middle School Debaters

So proud of our students at Stars Educational Consortium for their hard work and dedication in our Final Debate Tournament that took place on February 10, 2013 in front of our local State Representatives and local government officials. Below is a video of one of the team debates:


Debating in schools (especially middle schools) is an excellent way to make learning fun for students. Everyone likes a little competition, so why not bring a little in your classroom through the use of debate. Students can debate topics that you are teaching in your classroom. For example, if you are teaching a lesson on the Civil War, students can debate on a topic related to the Civil War. Therefore, integrating literacy into your classroom curriculum. STARS MIDDLE SCHOOL DEBATE PROGRAM is aligned to the Common Core State Standards and helps students gain confidence in public speaking and also helps them find their hidden talents.
